Position Summary: The OB Nurse Manager directs the provision of nursing care in a business unit while maintaining standards of patient care. Responsible for the maternity unit and staffing. Coordinates activities related to labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and the baby nursery. Manages and develops the departments operating budget and measures performance using standards established by the hospital.
Participates in community outreach program/committees to address and deliver women's health information and education. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, related science, or Business Admin; MSN or MBA preferred.
Current Ohio RN license
Current BLS, ACLS and NRP or must obtain within two months
Must be willing to obtain certifications in Inpatient Obstetrics and Electronic Fetal Monitoring with one year of employment; Obtain NRP instructor within one year of employment
At least three years of recent experience in the clinical area(s) of assigned responsibility; Minimum two years of leadership experience required
