Coordinates and supervises activities of assigned Pharmacy personnel, with the goal of providing efficient, timely, accurate and cost-effective pharmacy services; works under the general direction of the Director, Intravenous Admixture Services. Performs other functions as required, including assumption of other supervisor’s or Director’s duties in their absence.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises activities of pharmacists and technicians to assure expected level of services
Assures the proper maintenance and functioning of all satellite pharmacy operations
Ensures ongoing compliance with applicable regulatory standards and best practices, including USP 797 and USP 800
Participates in the development and review/modification of polices and/or procedures
Collaborates with other segments of the department to enable continuity of care as cancer center patients move between the outpatient and inpatient settings
Collaborates with members of the pharmacy supply chain team to maximize medication availability for patient care while minimizing pharmaceutical waste
Contributes to departmental planning and service coordination as a member of Pharmacy Services’ leadership team
Processes medication orders and dispenses medications in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and departmental policies
Responsible for the performance management and evaluation process of assigned personnel
Develops standards/dashboards and monitors new order processing/dispensing accuracy and timelines
Assists staff to perform at high level through utilization of the systemwide positive discipline process when needed
Demonstrates a Culture of Responsibility (CoR) during event investigation, conversations with personnel and proactive identification/resolution of risky behavior
Develops and maintains positive relationships with key departmental customers on the Christiana campus to foster effective communication, problem-solving, and planning.
Represents the department on inter-departmental and system level projects/initiatives, assigned by the Vice President/Director
Participates in the selection and hiring of staff and coordinates their orientation and training
Assumes staffing or other service responsibilities, as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Pharmacy Services or Directors

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of B.S. in Pharmacy required, Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred
Current State of Delaware pharmacist licensure or successfully attained prior to first date of employment
Minimum three years hospital pharmacy experience; oncology and/or cancer center operations experience preferred
Prior supervisory/management experience required
