We are seeking an experienced Medical Records Director.- 1 Full Time opening.
Assumes final responsibility for the technical accuracy and thoroughness of the Health Information Department.
Plans, organizes, evaluates, assesses, develops and directs the day-to-day operations of the Medical Record Department within Hospital policy guidelines, and federal, state and regulatory agency guidelines.
Supervises medical transcription services for the Hospital.
Analyzes and informs Administration and Staff of medical requirements for the Health Plans, changes in reporting information and other relevant factors.
Assures a smoothly functioning information system for the benefit of patients, medical staff, administration and the community.
Establish and implement administrative policies and procedures. Review and update to maintain an efficient department.
Employ and train a sufficient number of qualified personnel to support the department and management function requirements. Establish lines of authority and accountability provide appropriate supervision of personnel.
Establish and maintain controls relating to the custody of chart and documents belonging to the hospital.
Monitors physician completion of medical records within 14 days of discharge of patients.
Establish methods of communication and reporting that promote the orderly flow of information within the hospital. Develops and implement a Performance Improvement Plan. Review annually.
Facilitates staff meetings to disseminate information on new policies and procedures within the hospital, as well as, staff changes and functions. Assess the changes and needs within the hospital. Encourage and provide for open discussion of methods of cost contained improvement, changes in job functions, problem solving and explore ideas to increase job satisfaction.
Participate in a Performance Improvement Committee to: identify problems, determine priorities for investigation and resolution develop corrective action plans and monitor for compliance. Encompass all departments with facility.
