Como Community Unit of the Minnesota Specialty Health System (MSHS) provides rehabilitation and supportive residential services for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. Located in an apartment complex, MSHS Como allows clients to practice living independently as they work toward improving their functional skills.
This position shall perform specific tasks to provide short-term, safe, quality and supportive residential services to Serious and Persistent Mentally Ill consumers as an active member of the treatment team. Service delivery includes individual and group therapies, comprehensive integrated assessment, participation in treatment team(s), and involvement in performance improvement and program development. As a master clinician, this position is expected to provide technical assistance and clinical consultation to staff, offer sophisticated problem-solving skills during the course of consultation, and provide mentoring and educational experiences to staff to enhance the programs clinical capacity. In addition, the position provides clinical leadership to treatment teams and helps facilitate a collaborative and integrated person centered team process. The mental health professional is the backup for treatment service delivery, under the direction of the clinical supervisor. As a master clinician/mental health professional of the program, this position will be involved in reviewing referrals and providing on-call services for the program. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
To qualify, you must have:
- a Master’s degree in Psychology or closely related field in an accredited program,
- MN licensure as a Licensed Psychologist (LP), with the Minnesota Board of Psychology, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
- a doctorate in Psychology or closely related field in an accredited program and licensed as a LP by the Minnesota Board of Psychology.
NOTE: License eligible psychologists may be hired as a Psychologist 2 on a provisional appointment.
And per MN Statutes, you must
- be at least 18 years old,
- be able to pass a criminal background check.
