Responsible for hospital-wide functions related to the development and maintenance of professional standards and policies for Expressive Therapy Services while providing direct patient care activities. Provides clinical supervision to all Expressive Therapy Services staff in their direct patient care to children, adolescents, and adults from the ages of 5-65+. Develops and implements the Quality Assurance program for Expressive Therapy Services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans staffing needs and prepares staffing schedules in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Develops group therapy schedule in accordance with group needs.
Prepares and monitors annual budget to control costs.
Provides clinical supervision to departmental therapists.
Develops and implements a quality assurance program to improve patient care.
Plans, conducts, and evaluates daily Expressive Therapy groups.
Assesses newly admitted patients to determine appropriate Expressive Therapy services.
Completed routine paperwork in a timely fashion, including treatment plans.
Establishes and maintains an emphatic, therapeutic relationship with patients. Maintains a safe environment for patients and department staff.
Interfaces with licensing and accrediting agencies.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with other department heads and medical staff.
Participates in professional and educational activities to develop management and personal skills.
